Many of our clients wonder what they need to do to get to and stay on the first page of Google. They know they need to continue with their SEO efforts in order to compete with other pages for the same keyword. They also know that their site needs to remain fresh with relevant content. These are all commonly known facts in the world of search engine optimization. But, there are 5 tips that we have found to help keep your site ranked highly for your target keyword.

5 tips to advanced search engine optimization

1. Content is king: This one is the oldest and most important SEO phrase around. Don't be fooled. You can try every trick in the book. The one that matters most is content. Write as much about yourself and what you do as possible. If you don't have time, get someone to help. We know this rule very well. That's why we write at least 4000 words per day for our clients.
   
   
2. Write something worth reading: It's important that your website content is interesting and attractive to readers. Somehow, Google can tell if your content is rich with valuable information. If your website is very readable and interesting, Google will reward you. And, if users visit your site, you might actually get them to stay there just that little bit longer.
   
   
3. Backlinks are king: Ok, we know that we just said content is king above. But, really content is a king that lives in backlink-ville. If you're only focused on your own website's content, you really have no chance in this aggressive world. What is a backlink? Well, simply put, it's a link that another site uses to point to you. It's basically a vote, in Google's opinion.
   
   
4. Page Rank and Meta Tags aren't for everyone: In fact, you don't need a high Page Rank or a single Meta Tag in order to get on the first page of Google. We have a number of PR0 pages on page 1. There are many reasons to get a higher Page Rank. And, using Meta Tags certainly are good practice. But, if you follow tips 1 - 3 above, you'll get on the first page faster and more easily.
